A great big THANK YOU!!! ...goes out to one all all for being a part of this fabulous American festival in 2009!!!!
What a great time we had serving you at this years event. We made many new friends and welcomed back a few old time pals.
From the start we knew this year would be one of challenge and reward. Bikers - with their true american adventurous spirit - came out in droves as we entered into our 17th year of this event. From Main Street to the Speedway - Destination Daytona and beyond you could see bikers riding all over the whole county. Many truly enjoyed the warm Florida sunshine early on commenting they we're glad they weren't back home where weather took a turn for the cold. Later, that same cold front made it to the Daytona Beach area where bikers found cooler temperatures (in the 70's!) which made for great leather sales among popular vendors. Still, riding was king under the bright-blue Florida sky. Many bikers enjoyed drifting around to uncharted areas finding great little mom and pop diners to stop at and shops to browse through too. A clear sign of changing times and interest among biking enthusiasts. Even the attractions around town were humming as the fun free spirit of adventure filled the air with possibilities this year. There definitely was change about from the usual event routine.
Overall the Daytona Beach area is very pleased with the turn out. Crowd estimates are always the hot topic but truthfully there have been so many changes to all bike events over the years its much more difficult to report. In our own area we've seen the original event locations - all then located within the City of Daytona Beach proper - expand and change dramatically to include more locations than ever. As the events grew in national popularity, local participation also expanded to include many more area-wide locations who offered a much bigger variety of entertainment and activities throughout our entire county. Even neighboring cities and counties jumped on the promotional bandwagon creating competiting events nearby to attract this popular market. This gave visitors a much broader choice of event location offerings and as such we could see crowds begin to explore a much wider selection of activities throughout our whole county as well as within state. This means the crowd totals take on a whole new meaning and form of measurement. Its the difference between holding an event for say 50 people in one house as compared to those same 50 people now utilizing an entire compound. With the expansion of Speedway activities beyond the racing focus we also notice a greater attendance at that facility which can hold hundreds of thousands of people. Also the expanding of the Daytona Harley-Davidson franchise locally to include Bruce Rossmeyer's dream of Destination Daytona - another massive facility - may leave some attempting to compare numbers based on past event experiences. While determining the number is subjective for the most part, early indicators of business actually received has been very positive. Bikers were here, there and everywhere and that's good for the entire industry. It lends itself to the idea that bikers are a resistant lot and given the choice will go somewhere and do something that they truly enjoy. For that and the decision to attend this great event our whole industry is delighted. It's the light we've all been looking for at the end of the tunnel. It means hope for the future and survival of an American icon. That's good for us all. All things considered, we were amazed and very appreciative. We're working hard to be your favorite bike event destination and again......
Thank you one and all for keeping this great American event alive and well!!
We look forward to seeing you again real soon.

And that's just one thing that's happening at this world famous superspeedway during the event. Just think this could be you this year!
Need to hear from real folks about the event? We've got that too:
From Richard in Nashville, TN :
"I've read your crazy newsletters for years but never actually believed they could be what you said. Last year my buddies and I decided - what the heck, there's nothing else to do so let's go. Needless to say we were blown away with your event. I've never seen so many bikes, people and parties. This is definitely one of the best spur of the moment decisions we've made. Look for us again to be back."
From Mary in St. Pete, FL:
"My girls and I were searching for that perfect girlfriend get-away and we happened to stumble across Biketoberfest®. Since we're all riders we thought it would be fun to ride over for the day and see what all the fuss was about. We never made it back across the state because we had so much fun we didn't want to leave until the last bike rode out. The best part was all the other ladies out there riding too - nothing like it. We'll be back and maybe even bring the guys next time."
From the Craig Family - North Carolina
"We've decided to hold our family reunion at Biketoberfest® from now on. My daughter is even thinking about getting married there next year too."
There you have it - recommendations from those who actually made the choice to attend. We've got lots more just like them. Want to see your quote on our front page? Send us your reasons to attend at stories@biketoberfest.org and you could be famous like these folks, really!
So, the question remains .... will you be here this year too?
